When we say the word disaster in the movie business, we do always expect a mega-budget blockbuster to fascinate the eyes and the ears of filmgoers around the world. Since the time of silent film epics, and this interest continues to exist up to the present time. Catastrophes can take so many different cinematic forms… natural disasters, accidents, alien invasions and much more. Into the Storm as its name depicts is a storm-based catastrophe film, and speaking of that, this reminds me of one of the most spectacular tropical storm scenes ever shot in film history, in The Hurricane released way back in 1937.
In the span of a single day, the town of Silverton is ravaged by an unprecedented onslaught of tornadoes. The entire town is at the mercy of the erratic and deadly cyclones, even as storm trackers predict the worst is yet to come. Most people seek shelter, while others run towards the vortex, testing how far a storm chaser will go for that once-in-a-lifetime shot. Told through the eyes and lenses of professional storm chasers, thrill-seeking amateurs, and courageous townspeople, the film throws you directly into the eye of the storm to experience Mother Nature at her most extreme. Will we be swept away within the ravaging waves?
