Are you seeing one girl, or two? What is real and what is reflection? The Mulberry Winter ’16 campaign explores duality – in fashion, in women, in life.
The images, captured by Coco Capitán, play on the intriguing similarities and distinct differences of Odette and Lia Pavlova. The twins, plus the idea of reflection, illustrate the duality of the Mulberry woman – strong, striking, but also soft and feminine.
Johnny Coca, Creative Director:
“Lia and Odette have such distinctive looks and we played with their ‘twinness’ to twist the idea of reflection – sometimes you’re looking at one girl in a mirror, sometimes you see two, reflecting each other in their pose instead. The result is intriguing and playful.”
In the corresponding videos – chapter two will be released in September – the twins contrast and complement each other, adding visual curiosity with their resemblance and their obvious emotional connection. The result is a warm, poetic story that works as a canvas to showcase the Winter ’16 collection. Duality is key here too: the contrast of the soft, sheer blouses and the wool capes with military press studs, and the rich rose-print against the harshness of the chunky, track boots.
Lia and Odette are already part of the Mulberry Winter ’16 narrative: both walked the Mulberry catwalk during London Fashion Week, with Odette opening the show.
The campaign images feature key pieces from the catwalk collection, including the new Chester bag.
