This October, Emirates Palace’s kitchens will glow in a generous shade of pink when forty chefs don pink jackets and aprons in support of a good cause. October is famously Breast Cancer awareness month and, this year, Emirates Palace’s Executive Chef Stefan Trepp enlisted his team of chefs at Abu Dhabi’s most iconic hotel to support the cause in a colourful way.
Chef Trepp has partnered with Dubai’s Pink Brigade and Nourish to raise funds in support of the UAE’s foremost breast cancer charity Pink Caravan. On his choice to become involved with the charity, he said: ‘It’s incumbent upon those of us in the Food & Beverage industry to come together to help those affected by breast cancer, because who among us has not been affected by the disease?’
The Pink Brigade along with Nourish encourage chefs to unite across the world by wearing pink during the month of October to raise awareness for the early detection of breast cancer. Personalised chef jackets and hot pink aprons are on this year’s menu, and the chefs are donning them worldwide.
Trepp added: ‘Our Emirates Palace chefs agreed that by raising funds and showing unity for such an incredibly important cause we could demonstrate to the world that the hospitality industry has the power to really make a difference.
Early detection is key to treating breast cancer, and The Pink Caravan has offered early breast cancer detection screenings to 29,000 women and men of all ages and nationalities across the country — free of cost.
