Dubai Ice Rink launches Summer Skate School

Short skating course will teach children ice skating fundamentals

Stuck for ‘cool’ ideas for how to keep the kids entertained during the long summer holidays? Why not enrol them in Dubai Ice Rink’s Summer Skate School week-long ice skating course?

Running from July 10 until August 31, at the Olympic-sized ice rink in The Dubai Mall, the Summer Skate School will teach students the fundamentals of skating and basic manoeuvres, giving them the confidence to take to the ice on their own and make new friends in the process!

Children will be taught in small classes of 10 – 15 students, with a dedicated coach being assigned to each group. The day will commence with a thirty minute lesson, after which there will be a series of games which will help children to cement what they have just learnt. This will be followed by ‘free’ skating session that will give children additional practice on the ice, helping to boost confidence in their abilities.

The Dubai Ice Rink Summer Skate School course takes one week to complete (Sunday to Wednesday) and is suitable for children aged six years and over. The course is aimed at children looking to attain basic levels of skating and Dubai Ice Rink certificates will be issued at the end of the week to all students who have completed the programme.

The Dubai Ice Rink Summer Skate School is priced at AED 500 per child per week. The course fee is inclusive of skate and helmet hire for children, with an additional amount payable should parents decide to include a meal as part of the package.

Dubai Ice Rink is one of the city’s most popular leisure attractions. In addition to the new Dubai Snowfall skating sessions (that give guests the thrill of skating under gently falling snow), Dubai Ice Rink has enhanced its lifestyle appeal with monthly ‘foam parties’ and regular ice disco nights featuring beats from its resident DJ. The ‘coolest’ events venue in the city, Dubai Ice Rink is also an ideal setting for celebratory events or get-togethers.
