The Audemars Piguet Golf Ambassador claimed the season’s first Major at Augusta

Danny Willett won his first Major Championship victory at Augusta National on Sunday April 10th by a 3-shot lead over Lee Westwood, another AP golf ambassador, and last year’s winner Jordan Spieth. The 28-year old held tight in difficult conditions in the first three rounds before he scored a scintillating 67 on Sunday without dropping a single shot.

Danny didn’t arrive in Augusta until late Monday night, so he was the last player to register. He wouldn’t have played the tournament if his wife Nicole hadn’t been two weeks early delivering their first child, Zachariah on March 29th.

His victory comes in only his second participation at Augusta and his 12th attempt at a Major. The only previous English winner to put on the green jacket was Sir Nick Faldo in 1989, 1990 and 1996. When receiving his very own green jacket, Danny wore on the wrist his Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph in forged carbon, reference 26400AU.OO.A002CA.01. His triumph enabled him to crack the Top 10 world rankings for the first time in his career in 9th place.

Danny Willett and Lee Westwood are part of the Audemars Piguet Dream Team of golf ambassadors composed of Byeong Hun An, Keegan Bradley, Darren Clarke, Victor Dubuisson, Emiliano Grillo, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, Renato Paratore, Ian Poulter, Henrik Stenson, Peter Uihlein and Bernd Wiesberger. Through their continued hard work and dedication, they embody Audemars Piguet’s brand philosophy “To break the rules, you must first master them”.
