Farzi Café, the modern spice bistro by Zorawar Kalra, today opens its doors to its Dubai venture, marking the international debut for this highly acclaimed restaurant concept. Launched in collaboration with Crossroad Hospitality LLC and located in the bustling City Walk Phase 2, Farzi Cafe offers guests global cuisine with a unique Indian and Arabic twist with the inclusion of molecular gastronomy to introduce a sense of surprise to every dish.
While “Farzi” can have numerous connotations, at Farzi Café it has just one, namely “creating an illusion” through its unique culinary philosophy. The menu clearly articulates this vision, including innovative twists on Indian classics such as Smoked Beef Patthar Ke Kabab; marinated and seared slices of tenderloin served with Kashmiri walnut and wasabi cream and #Farzified Shawarma Biryani; crusted layered rice biryani with grilled chicken served along with fried egg, green chili curry and labneh raita. The menu also skillfully embraces Eastern flavors, with the Farzi Mezze, a platter serving duck samosa, vin leaf sausage, fatayer falafel, pita, mohamas, walnut and green apple mohamarra hummus and chutney, whilst the dessert selection showcases the artistry and delicacy of the pastry kitchen including Pear Baklava with Pistachio Launji and Vanilla Bean Ice Cream.
Speaking on the launch, Zorawar Kalra, Founder & Managing Director, Massive Restaurants Pvt. Ltd. (India) said: “Farzi Café is a modern Spice Bistro which has undergone extensive research & development to incorporate cutting edge cooking techniques, including molecular gastronomy and creative culinary art. The result is food that is global in nature but with a progressive Indian and Arabic approach, something we feel has never been done before. Any dining experience at Farzi is full of unique flavors, textures and combinations. With the Dubai menu, we enter brand new territory with our take on classic Middle Eastern favourites and we’re excited to see how UAE diners will respond.”
Offering a playful interpretation of ingredients and an immersive dining experience rich with Indian references, Farzi Café draws influence from the prolific work of Jiggs Kalra, Mentor and Culinary Director at Massive Restaurants and the creative talent behind some of the top restaurants in India.
