Mulberry has launched the first capsule collection designed by Creative Director Johnny Coca, available online and in stores from 1st April.
This first release of product features a new design signature, press studs, inspired by the utilitarian fastenings on military uniforms and the influence of British punk rock culture. This new aesthetic was first seen on the catwalk during Mulberry’s Winter 2016 show at London Fashion Week.
The capsule collection includes the Clifton bag: a new compact, cross body style that cleverly camouflages an organiser’s paradise underneath its neat exterior. Three zipped internal pockets provide ample room for essentials, and the chain strap can be adjusted from cross body to shoulder for additional versatility. The Clifton is available in Scarlet Calf Leather and Black or Burgundy Polished Croc Embossed Leather from £595.
Johnny Coca has also evolved and refined Mulberry shoes, and includes the new Marylebone Booties in Oxblood (£495) and Mary-Jane Pumps in Black (£370) as part of the capsule collection.
The Cecile Skirt and Cecile Dress, both in Navy Wool Felt, complete the initial capsule launch, both showcasing oversized press studs for a cool, contemporary silhouette.
Mulberry recently launched its Autumn 2016 campaign photographed by Coco Capitan and featuring pieces from the capsule collection.
