Executive Chef, Executive Housekeeper and EHS & Hygiene Officer join the team
Abu Dhabi, UAE (January 20, 2016) – Tilal Liwa Hotel, a stunningly secluded desert hideaway in Abu Dhabi, proudly announces the appointments of Chef Venu Madhav Mahankali as Executive Chef; Vimal Kumar as Executive Housekeeper and Jo Marie Antonette Tortor as EHS & Hygiene Officer.
Passionate about cooking, Chef Venu is a connoisseur of culinary arts from across the globe. He started his career with the Oberoi Hotels in India and widened his experience by joining prestigious hospitality brands in Mauritius, Bahrain and London. He moved to Abu Dhabi in 2015 and worked at Southern Sun Hotel before joining Tilal Liwa Hotel.
As the property’s Executive Chef, he will be overseeing the daily operations of Tilal Liwa Hotel’s three dining outlets and ensuring customer food satisfaction while supervising a team of over 16 chefs and stewards. A British national, Chef Venu brings with him some of the best-kept culinary secrets of various world cuisines which will offer guests at Tilal Liwa Hotel a new level of dining experience.
Mr. Vimal has more than 15 years experience, having previously worked at five-star hotels in India, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. He slowly climbed the ladder of success starting as a housekeeping room attendant to Housekeeping Supervisor and was promoted to Executive Housekeeper. He will play an important role in providing the highest levels of comfort and hospitality to guests of Tilal Liwa Hotel, ensuring impeccable standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all areas.
Meanwhile, Ms. Jo Marie joins Tilal Liwa Hotel as Environmental Health Safety & Hygiene Officer to ensure food production; catering and food services at the hotel are complying with statutory and company HSE and Quality standards, policies and procedures. She brings a wealth of experience, having conducted about 4,000 hours of training for approximately 2,500 staff over the last decade on HACCP, Food Safety, Occupational Health & Safety and Soft Skills and 30 months of experience in Camp Facilities Management and Catering with Japan Gas Corporation Barzan On-shore Project under Shaqab Abela subcontractor.
