Lines are bolder, freer, lighter. Waistlines are played down, graphics are played up. Trapeze shapes subtly transition to A-line silhouettes. Low-cut necklines appear here and there.
Built around three key moods – urban sophisticate, feel-good formal and playful edge – the latest collection offers contemporary women a complete wardrobe.
With her razor-sharp intelligence and sartorial finesse, Amal Alamuddin-Clooney balances a glamourous lifestyle with professional success – a fitting inspiration for the new season.
Faithful to PAULE KA for the past decade, Amal Alamuddin-Clooney has gone on to become an international fashion icon, praised for wardrobe choices that are both fashion-forward and confident. Rather than falling victim to fashion, she chooses her own interpretation. No stranger to a next-level outfit, she throws just enough eccentricity into the mix, putting a personal spin on whatever she’s wearing. A woman of our times, she knows just how to take an outfit from office-appropriate daywear to elegant eveningwear.
Amal Alamuddin-Clooney inspired this new collection by infusing it with a resolutely modern spirit and placing the functional aspect of clothing at the heart of the design process.
Mood #1 – Urban Sophisticate
Color palette: navy and orange, black and powder, taupe
Seamless early-season transition pieces, in fabrics such as broadcloth, tricotine and nylon.
Everyday designs with an urban twist: a cropped jacket replaces the classical blazer, a knitted sweater is swapped for a sweatshirt, trousers are upgraded to wider-legged flares and palazzo pants.
The zigzag motif is recreated using contrasting stitching or colliding broad stripes.
Oversized metallic eyelets are reinvented replacing a button on a jacket and a coat or as a touch of fantasy to leather dresses.
Contrasting stripes put the finishing touches to sleeves, collars and grosgrain leather belts. Revamped as all-over prints, they adorn slouchy or fitted knits.
Silk scarves add polish to trapeze tops or playfully chic tuxedo jackets with sweeping necklines.
Mood #2 – Feelgood Formal
Color palette: powder pink, sea green, black and white
Freed-up fabrics: ottoman is softened and worked into floaty bustier dresses, brocades are blended, while checks, guipure and lace create chic contrast.
Signature bow reinterpreted in a floral register makes bustier tops, waistlines and jacket collars pop.
Scarves in contrasting colors and fabrics woven into the lining of trapeze dresses build strong visual interest.
Mood #3 – Playful edge
Color palette: mandarine, light blue denim, black and white
A light and fresh summer statement.
Endless party pieces: from a little bustier dress in vichy seersucker to a sweeping two-tone glitter gown and a ballerina dress in textured cotton piqué…
High-waisted fall-front pants and shorts energize and lengthen the silhouette.
Narrow or broad zigzag motifs take on a graphic allure in black, white and navy print.
