This double bill with David Gray and Chris Botti Featuring Sting will definitely be a sell-out night!

Dubai, 9 December 2015: Chillout Productions is pleased to announce a co-headline act to embrace the night of February 25th, the English singer-songwriter David Gray will take the stage dazzling the audience with songs from his 10th and latest album Mutineers, as well as classic songs from throughout his career. Previously announced for this memorable evening are the Grammy Award-winning master trumpeter Chris Botti featuring the world-renowned icon Sting at the 14th edition of the Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival® 2016 at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre.

Over his 22-year career, David Gray has been many things to a lot of fans. He is the artist behind “White Ladder,” recorded in a bedroom studio before becoming the top-album in Ireland’s history, selling over 5 million copies worldwide. “Babylon,” “Sail Away,” “My Oh My,” “Please Forgive Me,” “This Year’s Love,” and “Silver Lining” though first released in 1998, the songs from White Ladder are still as seductive and original today as they were 17 years ago.

David Gray is not just a singer-songwriter but he is also a talented guitarist, pianist, and harmonica player, making him one of the most popular solo stars in England. He has released ten studio albums, picking up many awards, accolades and achievements along the way. With songs like “Back in the World”, “As the Crow Flies” and “Beautiful Agony” from Mutineers, this artist is with no doubt liberated from even his own expectations. Mutineers then is an experiment that seems to fizz with the joy of its own assembly. The sound of a musician making a clean break and some sharp turns but also reconnecting with the freedoms of an earlier dream, a rebuke and a salutation to all that’s gone before.

“Now boasting over 20 years as a professional musician, Gray has always been equally successful in the studio and as a live performer, his energy on stage is enormously infectious that ultimately engages any music lover. After two sold out gigs in 2008 and 2010 at the Dubai Jazz Festival, David Gray is returning for another gloriously magical performance that is expected to be a huge attraction to a massive crowd. His fanbase is constantly growing in this region as well as worldwide, and with his latest release Mutineers in 2014, we are confident that his upcoming show will be a huge success. The night of February 25th is a double bill offering to the festival fans starting with David Gray performance, and with the show of the year “Chris Botti featuring Sting”, we promise the audience a night to remember” said Anthony Younes, CEO and Founder Chillout Productions.

ABOUT DAVID GRAY:

David Gray’s debut album, “A Century Ends”, was released in 1993, followed by “Flesh” in 1994. As David’s recording success grew, so did his reputation as a live performer as he toured all around the world playing such iconic venues as London’s Earls Court and Royal Albert Hall, New York’s Madison Square Garden, and the Los Angeles Hollywood Bowl. “A New Day at Midnight” followed up his successful international breakthrough in the fall of 2002, and 2005’s “Life in Slow Motion” debuted at the top of the charts in both Ireland and the U.K. and was top 10 in the USA. In 2007 he released  “Greatest Hits”. Most recently, David released “Draw The Line” in 2009, “Foundling” in 2010, and “Mutineers” in 2014.
