Abu Dhabi, UAE – 16 October 2015: Yas Mall launched its first Fashion Week on October 14th, with a fantastic lineup of Autumn/Winter collections from a variety of international brands over the first two days. Yas Mall’s Town Square enjoyed a pack audience of fashion enthusiasts witnessing six glamorous shows.
The opening programme began with shows by popular European fashion houses Weill, Laurel, and Sonia by Sonia Rykiel, all of which have their only Middle East outlets in Yas Mall, and displayed a gorgeous collection to suit women of modern and classic tastes.
On day two, acclaimed British department store, Debenhams showcased a variety of looks from leading international designers, highlighting a few key trends such as, romantic military, modern retro and return to the 70s bohemian chic. Each show displayed different designers and collections, starting with the new women’s wear designer brand Nine by Savannah Miller. The next show involved a number of collections created exclusively for Debenhams, including Star by Julien Macdonald, Principles by Ben Del Lisi, Jasper Conran, H by Henry Holland and a brand new up and coming designer Todd Lynn. The shows were attended by popular Emirati female icon Taim Al Falasi, who enjoyed the views of the stunning new autumn and winter collections from the front row.
Fashion lovers still have a range of labels to look forward to this week, including renowned British department store, House of Fraser, with three runway shows on Friday 16th October. Additionally, other runway shows to anticipate include, British luxury retailer Ted Baker, BCBGMAXAZRIA showcasing glamorous evening dresses, Gerard Darel, French label Promod, Morgan de Toi highlighting the pop spirit of the sixties and seventies, Juicy Couture introducing their first Abaya collection, HOSS with looks inspired by three trends. Visitors will also enjoy a fantastic finale from ESPOSA. The shows will be attended by Kuwaiti fashionista Fouz Al Fahad on October 17th, and renowned Lebanese fashion guru and TV presenter Joelle Mardinian on 18th October, which will hold meet n’ greets with their fans.
In addition to the exceptional runway shows during fashion week, a few participating brands will also be introducing in-store promotions over the course of the five days. Top fashion stylist, Farah Kabir from Dress Code will be providing styling advice to costumers at the Gerard Darrel store from 16th to 17th October as well as discount vouchers. Additionally, other top brands offering vouchers include Debenhams, which will be handed out to the public during the show, and House of Fraser, offering vouchers with every AED 1,000 worth or purchases. Various brands will also be giving out gifts with purchases in celebration of the fashion week, including Laurel and Weill.
With nine brands yet to show their looks, guests still have the opportunity to witness these stunning new collections and take advantage of the shopper promotions within Yas Mall. With shows taking place in the mall’s Town Square until 18 October, guests are invited to attend all of the daily shows that begin at 5pm, 7pm and 9pm each day.
