Carl Cox was born on July 29th, 1962 in Barbados. He is a British house and techno DJ and producer. In the 1980s Cox was a hardcore/rave DJ. He performed at various clubs and was a monthly DJ for BBC Radio One’s Essential Mix.
He formed two record labels and currently participates in many music festivals around the world. He was elected the No1 DJ in the World in 1996 and 1997 by DJ Magazine. Carl Cox started his career as a hardcore/rave DJ in the mid-1980s. He now spearheads two record labels, Intec Records and 23rd Century Records.
Carl Cox also has his yearly own stage at Ultra Music Festival, Tomorrowland, Global Gathering and Electric Daisy Carnival called Carl Cox & Friends. Carl clarifies that the idea behind Carl Cox & Friends came about as an outcome of not only wanting to play longer sets at festivals, but to also give the festival audience an experience within the festival itself.

Carl Cox has performed at clubs such as The Eclipse, Edge, Shelly’s,Sterns Nightclub, Heaven, Sir Henry’s in Cork, Ireland and Angels and The Haçienda, as well as raves for Fantazia, Dreamscape, NASA and Amnesia House.
In the film, “Can U Feel It?”, a documentary about Ultra as a music festival, The stage is wildly popular with festival goers, and for the 2014 edition of Ultra, Carl Cox & Friends celebrated their 10-year anniversary for being a stage at Ultra.
What’s more, he has had regular shows on radios as well as over a decade’s worth of Ibiza live mixes broadcast from Club Space.
