Under the patronage of the Private Department of His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana is honored and proud to host the celebration ceremony of “Sowar”, an art exhibition for the artist Mr. Rabee Douier on Monday 25th of May 2015.
Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana invites guests to attend the opening of this unique art exhibition which consists of a wide array of twenty two marvelous paintings depicting various facets of Arab culture – from Arabian horses, sailing ships, old residential neighborhoods, Arabic music, and many more depictions of what the Arab culture truly represents.
Rabee Douier is an Arab artist born in 1978 with an early interest in drawing and calligraphy. He excelled in his work throughout these early years and was influenced by Van Gogh’s expressive impressionism and several other infamous artists of the century. His paintings are characterized by his love of imaginary colours where he makes reality blend with fiction – a world between travel and ground. Rabee chooses his subjects and drawings from themes and ideas he is most passionate about and mixes colours to bring the audience to move from one spectrum to another. He has a love for colours in which he conveys the mindset of impressionism, and brings the paintings into life. His works consist of strong formal elements, such as colour, shape, balance, depth, composition, in which he reveals the realism of the paintings into action. His paintings describe Arabesque patterns which express the artist’s fascination of the Arabian way of life. Renowned for his colourfully rendered paintings, one can feel the touch of ease through his brush strokes, and can smell the depth of the paintings’ surroundings whether on land, or sea.
“It is astonishing and marvelous how a masterpiece can represent hope, nostalgia, warmth and strength, while taking the audience to on a voyage of exploration”, says Mark Timbrell, the General Manager at Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana.
The open exhibition will continue until the 5th of June 2015 and will include the presence of a group of dignitaries, artists, journalists, visitors who will see the fantastic paintings on display as well as enjoy the five-star hospitality.
