Where Our Thoughts Go, Our Reality Grows…

Creating Our Reality

The latest research tells us we can indeed be the creators of our own reality and with discipline and awareness we can re-wire the brain and mind to work for us creating a happy, positive state of being rather than one of repeated negativity and trauma…The mind is the brain in action, responding to any number of experiences which become the triggers for feeling a certain way. This can be an external experience, a smell, a piece of music, a familiar place or a photograph for example or the mind and body can respond the same way to an internal event created by a memory of our near or distant past and those who remind us of that. Repeated thoughts or exposure to similar events solidify a certain habitual way of thinking and therefore our predictable behavior in response to these stimuli. This is called the law of repetition and can work for or against us. When we engage in this type of habitual behavior we set in motion a chemical reaction which affects every part of our lives. How we feel we think and therefore how we think we feel in a loop that does not end until we literally change the script in our heads which can be difficult, but not impossible…

Good And Bad Habits In Process…

Now, we can create both good and bad habits which we all have to a certain degree but we can all agree that good habits, although subjective are generally universal and include doing things which make us feel good, like going for a run, a swim, a walk through the countryside, along a beach or eating healthily, whereas thinking about an ex who has left you, self-loathing talk, or eating unhealthily could be considered bad. Both habits are created the same way via the rule of repetition and continual exposure, but they are polarized on a chemical level within the body… That which makes us feel good will produce a cocktail of feel good hormones, like serotonin and melatonin and we literally become how we feel, in this case, great, alive and full of energy… On the flip side thoughts and habits which cause stress and disturbance produce a cocktail of negative hormones called neuro-peptides which literally makes us feel how we think… The brain is flooded with these toxic hormones and the receptors that house them are capable of splitting and replicating, allowing for more of the same messages to be received and therefore making you feel more and more miserable and depressed…

The 21-Day Routine

How to change this? By changing your thought patterns which created your reality. If you are already living a life full of contentment then I congratulate you and please share your experiences with others, but if not and you struggle continually with negative thoughts and habits then here is what to do and here you must take full responsibility. For 21 days minimum, you must change your daily routine. It takes at least 21 days of exposure to a new habit or thought for the brain to recognize it as a habit and starts to behave in an autonomous fashion which is the effect we are working towards…If you normally wake up at 7, get up at 6 and go for a walk. Put some music on that you like, maybe some meditating music which soothes, it does not matter, as long as you are willing to stick at it for 21 days. On returning home, change your habits. Don’t reach for the lap top or smart phone to check Facebook or what’s app, make a nice breakfast or healthy smoothie whilst enjoying how your body feels after the walk/run etc. If people in your life are triggering unwanted responses, do your best to remove them from your energy grid as you go about completing this vital 3 weeks of new behavior? I know this can be difficult but use your common sense and do your best. Eat healthily, spend some time watching comedy each day or reading a book that you enjoy, whatever it is that makes you feel good, do it, and keep doing it every day for 3 weeks, day and night. I cannot be responsible or accountable for you, only you can do this, but science has clearly shown us, where our thoughts go our reality grows… How badly do you want to change? I will leave the rest to you.
