Group exhibition Huna Al Emarat 2005 – 2015 to open in February

CBRE presents exhibition to showcase UAE’s development during the past decade

Huna Al Emarat: 2005 – 2015, a group exhibition taking place at DUCTAC’s Gallery of Light will be open from 10th – 16th February 2015 and is set to feature works across a range of media platforms including painting, photography, sculpture and video by a diverse collection of artists, art collectives and designers.

The exhibition will take the form of a collective memoir reflecting the past decade in the UAE and the evolution of the country during this period, and is presented by CBRE to coincide with the firm’s 10th anniversary in the Middle East.

Nick Maclean, Managing Director, CBRE Middle East, commented, “Coinciding with CBRE’s 10th anniversary in the region, we are proud to present Huna Al Emarat and stimulate creative communities within the UAE. The Emirates has witnessed resounding success during the past 10 years and this exhibition is a perfect platform to showcase its history and development through compelling contemporary art. Art exhibitions such as these go a long way in positioning the UAE as a cultural tourism destination in the Middle East.”

DUCTAC’s General Manager, Simon Coates added, “It’s very exciting for DUCTAC to be involved in a project that features art and design work that looks ahead as well as reflecting back over the past decade.  The creative scene here is still in a developmental stage and the Huna Al Emarat exhibition provides a useful touchstone on the journey.”

The artists taking part in the exhibition include Khalil Abdulwahid, Ammar Al Attar, Mattar bin Lahej, Camille Mallat, photography collective MOBIPIXUAE, and Nour Sokhon. Alongside their artwork the exhibition will also showcase design works by Caravan and present publications including Brusselssprout and WTD.

Further underlining CBRE’s commitment to supporting art in the region, the opening night of the exhibition will also see the announcement of the winner of CBRE Middle East’s 10th Anniversary competition, where prominent Arabic designers were invited to design an anniversary logo to celebrate the firm’s decade in the Middle East.
