It’s been a month gone, and the Runway Dubai Season II Fashion show is still on everybody’s lips.
The most anticipated fashion show of the year featured a host of high profile celebrities and dignitaries from different countries who came to support their own emerging talents.
The deputy consulate general of Thailand in Dubai, was up front cheering at this year’s winner of the emerging talent competition, Miss Aisha Thichathorn who dazzled the judges with her over the top bejeweled wings and head gears. The high profile judges included iconic designers, Walid Atallah and Amna Fernandez along with global fashion retail expert Asil Attar. The judges contributed their constructive criticism to the designers, and added that it was a fierce competition. The competition was immediately followed by the main show with established designers and brands who have also been a long source of inspiration to the emerging designers.
The first show began with Malaysian designer Shaleen Cheah who showed off her flowing, sultry evening gowns and beautiful corsets.
Miss Helen Couture, a Nigerian designer, who draws her inspiration from nature, designed trendy evening gowns with tasteful colors and patterns.
Miss Annamaria Patronella from Italy whose Victorian style wedding and evening gowns gave a wonderful vintage twist to the atmosphere.
Si Fashion Galerie, a franchise boutique based in Dubai, took theatrical fashion to a whole new level with stunning pieces and abstract colors.
Nazreen Idris, a native of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, intrigued guests with an amazing fusion of the Malaysian cultural style with a western influence. The evening gowns daintily embellished with silk flowers.
By Lima Couture displayed the most gorgeous caftans of Morocco. The Dutch caftan designer, Salima Tarzati had guests clicking away at every caftan.
Khaled Al Ayoub is a native of Kuwait. This trendy designer trotted the runway with stunning celebrity blogger miss Daneeda Tuwairish who also wore his creation. Despite his motor accident two-days prior to his collection debut in Dubai. He flew in with 14 delegates from Kuwait who all gave him a standing ovation along with his presentation of stunning evening gowns.
Iconic designer Walid Atallah did what he knows how to do best. He closed the show with soft silhouettes and flowing gowns fit for princesses. He brought guests with him to Fantasy Island.
The experience was sealed with a surprise “mannequin themed” cake decorated with all the sponsor and designer’s names. The cake was served to all the guests at the finale of the show.
The Team of Fashion experts held on to their slogan as being “The most Inspiring fashion event of the season”.
Everyone is looking forward to season III.
